We are seeking a talented Scrum Master to work as a servant leader for one or more delivery teams within a fast-paced product development environment. This role is intended to help Agile teams achieve their goals as high performing units, creating a culture of self-organization, continuous improvement and consistent delivery of software. The Scrum Master facilitates clear communication, escalates risks and proactively removes impediments.

• Motivates project team to follow Agile processes and Sprint events through coaching and facilitation
• Assesses team performanceand provide options for improvement
• Assists with setting realistic SMART goals for feature and Sprint delivery timeframes
• Identifies and mitigates program and team level risks/impediments
• Assists in managing and resolving cross-team and cross-department dependencies
• Tracks and monitors team’s progress toward program and Sprint goals via Agile progress reporting charts (e.g. Burndown Charts) and deliver input to status reports
• Works with program leaders to adopt and grow Agile culture, mindset, and processes
• Any other duties required to facilitate team success

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related STEM field preferred
• Scrum MasterCertification
• 2+ years of experience serving as a Scrum Master required
• 3+ years of experience in software development field
• Experience with using requirements management tools required, Jira and Confluence preferred
• Demonstrated ability to coach/mentor team members in Agile Methodologies
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated high level of analytical and problem-solving skills
• Agile experience/knowledge of key Agile techniques, Kanban, Lean and Scrum   

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

• Experience with Horse Racing and/or Sports Enthusiasta plus.

OTOTHER INFORMATION:

• Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a competitive base salary and benefits.
• This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.

BASE WORK LOCATION:

• Position based in Hunt Valley, MD; Washington, PA; or Beaverton, OR with remote work consideration available.  Note: Due to pandemic and based on business direction, positions are remote work full time until otherwise notified.
